French Dip Rolls

I made this for that Superbowl party that I threw for just me and my hubby. I needed an excuse to cook good food. I saw the idea for these French Dip Crescent Rolls on pinterest.  What a clever way to eat a French Dip sandwich.  The original recipe called for using  cans of crescent  rolls. I'm sure that would be delicious, but I decided to use homemade white bread dough because I figured I could use some of the dough for the rolls and still get a loaf or two of bread out of it too. I do have to say these little French Dip Rolls were tasty. I'm sure I'll be making these again.

French Dip Rolls

  • White Bread Dough or canned crescent roll dough
  • Deli roast beef, thinly sliced
  • Swiss cheese slices
  • Horseradish (optional)
  • Au Jus

If using white bread dough, divide the dough into four equal balls. Roll each ball into a circle about 1/4" inch thick. Using a pizza slicer cut the circle into 8 wedges. (You certainly don't have to use all 4 of the circles, that's a lot of rolls. You could save some of the dough to make a loaf of bread or something.)  If using the crescent roll dough, unroll the crescent roll dough. Spread a small amount of horseradish on each bread dough wedge or crescent slice, then place a slice of two of roast beef and a piece of cheese on each bread dough wedge or crescent roll. Roll starting from the wide end place on the cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes, until golden brown. Heat Au Jus while rolls are baking.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
