Easy Peach Vanilla Mousse Parfait

We had the missionaries from church coming over for dinner one day and I had completely forgot to plan ahead for dessert. I needed to come up with something using only ingredients from my house, because hubby and I share a car and he has it with him at work most days. I had a couple of peaches that were approaching the end of their life span. What could I do with peaches? I rummaged through the cupbooards and found a box of Dream Whip. (Remember Dream Whip? The stuff I used to make the Chocolate Cream Pie.) I noticed on the box there was a recipe for chocolate mousse. I decided I could change out the chocolate pudding in the mousse recipe for vanilla and that would probably go great with the peaches.  It made a quick, easy and delicious dessert.

Easy Peach Vanilla Mousse Parfait

  • 1 envelope Dream Whip
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups cold milk, divided
  • 1 4 oz package vanilla instant pudding mix
  • 2 or 3 peaches
  • Whipped cream (I made mine with a second package of dream whip, which didn't make very much. I then discovered a can of whipped cream in my fridge.)
Beat 1/2 cup milk, Dream whip, and vanilla in a bowl on slow speed until just mixed. Then, beat on high speed 4 minutes until mixture thickens and form peaks. In another bowl, combine remainin 1 1/2 cups milk and vanilla pudding mix. Beat with wire whisk for 2 minutes. Fold dream whip mixture into pudding mixture. Slice peaches. Layer mousse and peaches in a tall ice cream dish or parfait dish starting and ending with a layer of mousse Top with whipped cream and garnish with a peach slice. Makes 4 servings.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
