Chocolate Cream Pie

Chocolate cream pie was a favorite at my house when I was growing up. Seriously, it was my brothers "cake" of choice for his birthday. It showed up at a lot of holidays. The best part is that if you use Dream Whip chocolate cream pie is ridiculously easy to make. Dream whip is magical stuff. You can use it to make cream pies, mousses, a lot of desserts that may use pudding, you can make whipped cream from milk with it... probably endless possibilities. You can find Dream Whip in the baking aisle and in some instances when grocery stores organize products weird you may find it by the jello and pudding mixes. The recipe we use is found on the back of the dream whip box.

Chocolate Cream Pie
  • 1 precooked pie crust
  • 2 envelopes Dream whip
  • 2 3/4 cups milk, divided
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 (3 1/2 oz) packages chocolate instant  pudding mix (or banana or lemon or any other flavor pudding that might make a great cream pie)
Mix the 2 envelope of dream whip, 1 cup milk and vanilla in a large bowl with an electric mixer on high 6 minutes or until mixture thickens and forms peaks. Add remaining milk and pudding mixes. Beat on low speed until mixed, then beat on high speed 2 minutes, scrapping bowl occasionally.  Spoon mixture in pie crust. Top with whipped topping and garnish with chocolate. Refrigerate at least 4 hours before serving.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
