Chocolate Glazed Chocolate Chip Muffin Muffin Mix Scones

I hope you are all enjoying the Olympics. We recorded the opening ceremonies Friday night and watched them Saturday morning. We enjoyed these scones for breakfast while we watched them. If you haven't noticed I like to use mixes because they are fast and easy. I love to bake from scratch too, but there are times that I'm hungry and would rather go the fast and easy route. I discovered once that you can make scones from any "Just add water" or "Just add milk muffin mix" by replacing the liquid with sour cream.

Chocolate Glazed Chocolate Chip Muffin Mix Scones
  • 1 package just add milk/water chocolate chip muffin mix
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1-2 tablespoon milk
Preheat oven to 400°F. In a medium bowl stir muffin mix and sour cream until it forms soft dough. Place dough on a lightly floured surface and pat in to a 6” circle. Cut into triangles using a sharp knife. Place 1” apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake for 14 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from oven and let cool 5-10 minutes. In a small bowl combine powdered sugar, cocoa powder and milk until think enough to drizzle. Drizzle glaze over scones. Serve warm. Yield 6.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
