Campfire Eclairs

This was a fabulous Pinterest find. Some one pinned this recipe for campfire eclairs from the Bigler's Best Belly Pleasers. In her picture you can see these fabulous eclairs oozing with pudding and covered with frosting and whipped cream. We decided to go with a less mess version and skipped the frosting and whipped cream. They were a nice treat for a camping trip. They were easy too. I do have to apologize for the bad quality pictures but getting pictures at dusk is always difficult.

Campfire Eclairs
  • 5/8" wooden dowels
  • Cooking oil
  • Refrigerated canned crescent rolls/li>
  • Snack pack pudding (we used the chocolate and vanilla layered pudding since we didn't use chocolate frosting
  • Chocolate frosting (optional
  • Spray whipped cream (optional)
Take wooden dowel and coat one end with oil. Wrap crescent roll dough around coated end of dowel and about 4" down dowel. Make sure dough is not too thick and doesn't have any holes. Cook over hot coals until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from dowel and spoon pudding inside. Frost top and add whip cream if desired.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
