Cocktail Meatballs

I made all sorts of great things for Christmas that I would like to share with but since Christmas is over some of them seem kind of irrelevant, so I guess I will have to debate about it in my head a little longer whether or not I post anything shaped like a Christmas Tree. In the mean time here is a recipe that I made over the holiday that is NOT irrelevant and would make a nice dish for New Years Eve too. Cocktail meatballs.  I know everyone has that recipe for cocktail meatballs that uses grape jelly. This is not that recipe. This is better. It's really similar, and still really easy, and they taste AMAZING.

Cocktail Meatballs
  • frozen meatballs
                or
  • Meatballs from scratch
    • 2 lbs ground beef (I used 1 lb groundbeef, 1 lb ground turkey for a leaner mix)
    • 1 cup bread crumbs
    • 2 eggs
    • 1/3 cup ketchup
    • 1/4 cup dried parsley flakes
    • 2 tablespoons instant minced onion
    • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Mix ingredients together by hand. Roll into 1 inch balls
  •  1 Jar Chili Sauce
  • 1 can jellied cranberry sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Place meatballs in a 9"x13" pan. Mix chili sauce, cranberry sauce, brown sugar and lemon juice together. Pour over meatballs. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. This recipe also works well in a slow cooker.

I'm sorry, but I've turned word verification on again. I hate trying to decipher the words just as much as anyone, but I'm getting way too much spam. I tried doing comment moderation as people suggested but the number or spam comments I had to sift through was ridiculous. I appreciate your comments and didn't want them to get lost among the spam. Hopefully, I can reduce the amount of spam and turn the word verification off soon.
